After five years of broadcasting, the Prima Comedy Central channel, which is part of the ViacomCBS group, is changing to the Paramount Network. Viewers will see the new name of the station on their receivers from January 12, 2021.

ViacomCBS explained the change of name “in response to market developments and the needs of viewers”.
The new broadcast scheme will offer a combination of comedy series from Comedy Central, such as Sponge Bob, Such a Modern Family or How I Met Your Mother. Viewers can also look forward to the premiere line of the Comedy Club with Czech stand-up comedians. In prime time, the channel will offer Paramount movies every night. In the early days, for example, at the Terminal, films with Eddie Murphy, The Beverly Hills Cop and The Swap, or the film American Beauty.

The Prima Comedy Central program began broadcasting in the Czech Republic on December 14, 2015. It was operated by Viacom International Media Networks (now ViacomCBS), which was also responsible for the content, program and its technical side. The local cooperation with the Prima group supported the introduction of the channel on the Czech market by providing the name of the established brand, and the Media Club sales agency took care of the sale of advertising.
