/ world today news/ The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, agreed with the head of PMC “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin on the steps towards de-escalation, the press service of the Belarusian President announced.

The press office of the Belarusian president reported that Putin told Lukashenko about the situation in southern Russia with the private military company “Wagner”. The heads of state agreed on joint actions.

Lukashenko talks with the head of PMC “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin. As a result, he accepted Lukashenko’s proposal to stop the movement of Wagner’s gunmen on Russian territory and take further steps to de-escalate tensions.

An “absolutely profitable and acceptable option for resolving the situation” was agreed upon with guarantees for the security of the Wagner fighters, the Belarusian leader’s press office notes.

Recall that the headquarters of the Southern Military District was captured by Wagner’s forces at night, there were armored vehicles near the building. A criminal case has been opened against PMC head Yevgeny Prigozhin. The attempted rebellion was condemned in Russian society.
