Prigogine was struck by Bonapartism – 2024-08-30 19:33:15

/Pogleed.info/ “We all take an example from Napoleon,” Pushkin complains. However, Russia is a country where taking such an example is hopeless. Whoever is predicted for Bonaparte in our country, each one either fails or does not even manage to cast his fateful lot. The 20th century shows this with the example of Kornilov, Makhno, Tukhachevsky, Beria, Lebed. And now – Yevgeny Prigozhin’s rebellion as the most striking case of Russian Bonapartism. I am sure that this candidate will not be successful either.

The fact that Prigogine was infected with Bonapartism became apparent quite quickly. So it seemed to me that he would be taken out of the race or pushed into the shadows before he decided to stand up openly. To be sent back to Africa, for example. Doom was felt in his whole demeanor. At least there has been talk of a possible “march to Moscow” for a long time.

Prigogine’s ambitions flourished in hothouse conditions, he was the darling of the country, but in the end his exaggerated ego led him to disaster and betrayal. And now he’s trying to drag the whole country down with him.

Prigozhin was a talented military organizer and his PMC “Wagner”, which he called “the best infantry in the world”, won an outstanding victory at Artyomovsk. But still, according to his confession, 20 thousand lives were given for this success. And now the thought arises: why did Prigozhin actually have to lay down these lives? For the sake of the victory of Russia or for the sake of gaining the authority to allow him to become Napoleon to justify his betrayal? That is, Prigogine himself questioned the feat of his boys overnight.

A point that few people pay attention to: Prigozhin is not only a military organizer, but also – and perhaps above all – an expert in information warfare. A very experienced propagandist. He knows how to speak with conviction, outwardly he appears to be a direct and sincere seeker of the truth, an accuser. But at the end of the day, we can’t verify his information in the same way we can verify the information of those he is trying to convict of lying.

It must be remembered that much of what he said may turn out to be demagoguery and forgery, and the material about the “missile strike of the Ministry of Defense on the Wagner PMC camp” is similar to the Nazi provocation in Gleiwitz, which served as a pretext for the outbreak of World War II. A pretext for armed action was needed, and it was invented.

At the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to the informational background preceding the commotion. Over the past few days, individual political channels on Telegram have been spewing dark prophecies that “the time of trouble is approaching” and making thoughtful remarks such as “1916 is on our calendar.” It is clear that Prigozhin constantly made some accusations against the leadership in Moscow, everyone saw this, but it seems to me that about such prophecies one should know something else, something very specific. Either Prigozhin himself was spreading information about the upcoming rebellion, or he has curious allies that we don’t know about.

If Prigogine’s trump cards can be considered the military authority won by tens of thousands of other people’s lives and the ability to speak persuasively, then his weakness is the lack of any intelligible idea.

Why would anyone support Prigogine? Because of the removal of one minister and one chief of the General Staff? But then what? If you challenge supreme authority, then whose interests are you defending? Prigozhin does not give answers to these questions, getting away with populist, in the spirit of Navalny, insults against corrupt officials and bureaucrats.

Prigogine’s only chance was to agree with one of the generals – and for them to act together. This is what happens in Latin America and not only: the commanders of several types of armed forces gather, negotiate with each other and form a military junta. But, apparently, no one wanted to join the junta with Prigozhin. Neither military nor politicians nor governors supported him.

Perhaps he was counting on the support of the president, under whom he considered his PMC to be the Praetorian Guard? But the president clearly said: a rebel and a traitor is in front of him. And in any case, it doomed Prigozhin to political defeat. He has nowhere to go.

But the option, when the “best infantry in the world” would be destroyed by airstrikes on the M-4 highway, would also not bring anything good to the country. I don’t know how all of us who unconditionally supported the Supreme Commander will live with this. Yes, we will survive, but it will be very difficult.

The only decent way out of this nightmare: Prigozhin must surrender and order his soldiers to lay down their arms. I remind you that we do not have the death penalty. It is better to sacrifice your freedom than to lose the lives of innocent people for the pleasure of the enemy.

Today, when the country is fighting its worst fight against an external enemy, a blow to the back is the greatest humiliation. From that moment on, it becomes pointless to discuss Prigogine’s views, to assess what is right and what is wrong. From what he did and continues to do, it will be bad for everyone: both his fighters, and the soldiers on the front, and the civilians, and the president, and the country as a whole. What is happening must be stopped quickly and at all costs.
