The authorities of the unrecognized Transnistria intend to seek independence and become part of Russia. About it RIA Novosti said “foreign minister of the republic” Vitaly Ignatiev.
“The vector of Pridnestrovie has remained unchanged throughout the years of the republic’s existence, which is reflected in the results of the referendum on September 17, 2006, where it is clearly indicated: independence with subsequent free accession to the Russian Federation. The country’s independence is an absolute priority,” he stressed.
Ignatiev added that the leadership of the unrecognized republic would not make decisions “to the detriment of the half-million people of the country.”
Earlier, NATO stated that Russia is trying to destabilize the situation in Moldovahowever, does not have the military potential to land in Transnistria.
