Pride returned to the streets of NY. This is how the best party of the year was lived

After a year of arduous discipline, civic responsibility and a pandemic lockdown, New York is resuming its usual rhythm and the Pride celebration was an explosion of color and happy celebration for the re-opening from the city.

Madonna kicked off the Pride celebrations at a private party on Thursday, June 24, with a surprise appearance at the famed Boom Boom Room! In the prelude, the night featured various DJs (Misshaped, Honeu Dijon, Kaytransfa and Elk Escobar).

At 1:00 am, the queen of pop climbed onto the oval-shaped bar and, wrapped in the frenzy of the spectators, caused an extraordinary vibe very from the nineties to start the party. Simultaneously, in Times Square, his mini film was inaugurated Madonna- No Fear, Courage, Resist.

This was the first post-pandemic party of the famous and luxurious Boom Boom Roon and so New York returned to the dance floors to continue what was a very joyful and flashy weekend.

On Saturday the city was saturated with rainbows. From banks, restaurants, shopping malls, department stores, everyone celebrated gay pride: the Macy’s department store opened its doors and greeted the public with applause and gifts. Among them, tote bags with Pride badges.

On Sunday the march seized the city. From east to west, north to south, hundreds of people and institutions marched to celebrate Pride. Hundreds of people were dancing and singing in the iconic Washington Square Park fountain.

The vibe is hard to describe, but if words do it justice, it was the reopening of a city that suffered greatly during the pandemic and was full of happiness, warmth and much hope.

And even if we are all happy and full of hope, we cannot forget the prejudices and injustices that still exist in many parts of the world in reference to the LGBTTTIQ + community. Pride is not just a celebration, it is also a fight that lasts more than a month.
