Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Next week, two game consoles will launch in the near future. Sony launched the PlayStation 5 and Microsoft launched the Xbox Series X. Here’s a price comparison between the PS5 and the Xbox Series X.
Sony will sell the PS 5 regular edition for US $ 500 or the equivalent of Rp.7.4 million (assuming Rp.14,800 / US $) per unit while the PS 5 Digital Edition is US $ 400 (Rp.6 million). This console goes on general sale on November 12, 2020.
Meanwhile, the Xbox Series X sells for US $ 499 (Rp 7.39 million) and the Xbox Series S for US $ 299 (Rp 4.5 million). This console made by Microsoft will go on sale November 10, 2020.
The price that is not much different and the timing of this close sale is considered by some experts as a form of console war. When compared to sales of previous consoles, Sony is clearly ahead of Microsoft. According to Apere Analysis data, there are 111 million PS4 users and 51 million Xbox One sales.

In terms of specifications, the Xbox Series X will include the same Zen 2 and RDNA 2 architectures as the PlayStation 5. This Microsoft console will include a dedicated AMD Zen 2 CPU with 8 cores and 16 threads, with 52 computing units locked at 1,825 GHz.
This console will be equipped with the ability to run 8K resolution games with a refresh rate of 120 Hz at 4K, complete with beam tracking capabilities. The Xbox Series X will have 16GB of GDDR6 RAM, which can play the most graphic-intensive games.
The PlayStation 5 will carry a custom version of the third-generation AMD Ryzen chipset, running the new Zen 2 architecture, with GPUs running on 36 compute units at 2.23 GHz, all of which have 10.28 TFLOP.
Like the Xbox Series X, the PS5 will come with an impressive 8K resolution with a refresh rate of 120 Hz in 4K. This Sony console is also equipped with beam tracking capabilities, as quoted by CNN International, Wednesday (4/11/2020).
