The average price of fresh poultry decreased today, Friday, in the markets compared to its level yesterday, and the price per kilo declined by about 1.21 pounds, to record 90.04 pounds, according to the latest update of the data of the local and international price portal of the Cabinet Information Center, which may differ from some price levels in some regions of the Republic.
According to the Cabinet Prices Portal, the price of a kilo of white poultry in Egypt today starts at 71.6 pounds, while the price of municipal poultry reaches a maximum of 108.48 pounds.
Egypt produces about 1.6 billion birds annually, and this production achieves self-sufficiency by about 95%, and the gap between production and consumption does not exceed 5%, according to data from the Poultry Division previously.
The rise in feed prices and the import crisis during the past months caused a shortage in the supply of poultry and eggs and a significant jump in their prices.
