The governor of the Russian region of Murmansk, Andrei Chibis, was stabbed today in the stomach after a meeting in the town of Apatity, local media reported.
Chibis was hospitalized and the attacker was detained, the TASS news agency said.
«Tonight in the city of Apatity an armed attack against the head of the region occurred. After a meeting with citizens, at the exit of the building of the Stroitel cultural center, Andrei Chibis was stabbed in the stomach and then taken to the Apatity-Kirov hospital,” the report says, citing the press service of the head of the region. .
