The sixth generation of the Volkswagen Polo already has 3 years of life behind it, so according to the usual timing of the manufacturer of Wolfsburg, a restyling could be expected within the next 2 years. We have not yet seen walls or camouflaged test cars on the street, but we are almost sure that the new German city car could arrive towards the end of 2021, starting marketing from the first months of 2022.
Volkswagen Polo 2022, gets bigger inspired by the Golf 8
There are no real rumors about the sixth generation of the German who it won’t be an upheaval than the previous one. However, we have the first spy photos that show a soft restyling for the exterior, which inherits the lines of the new Golf 8 with a prominent bonnet and shapes that mix roundness and sharper lines. The front could have Full-LED headlights as standard, with a thinner and sharper shape, as well as a new offer for alloy wheels. Slight improvements also to the rear: there will be a new shape of the bumpers and LED technology for the taillights. Our photographer also points out the outline of two fake tailpipes.
Cockpit in step with the times
We also expect new software for l’infotainment, faster and with greater functionality, perhaps raising the standard equipment of the Polo making it resemble, even in the interior design, the current Golf 8 and ID.3.
Mild hybrid engines only
The engines? Obviously electrified with thegoodbye to pure diesel. In range, presumably, we will find the new 48-volt 3-cylinder mild-hybrid engines, with the electric unit assisted by the 110 hp 1.0 eTsi petrol. The 130 and 150 hp 1.5 eTsi will also be mild hybrid, while the 90 hp methane engine and the 210 hp GTI sports car should be confirmed.

There is a clear improvement in the front, which winks more at the design of the new Golf 8 with a chrome finish that ideally connects the headlights. A big difference can also be seen from the rear. The optical groups, which have always been almost trapezoidal, also gain an extension towards the inside, resembling the Golf more, even in this case. 
Prices and exit
Prices have not been announced. Let’s imagine an access price in line with today’s range.
