Preview: Werder Bremen vs. 1. FC Cologne – Can Werder Bounce Back from Heidenheim Defeat?

Moinsen,

Just one sentence about the last game (in Heidenheim): Congratulations on your first win in the first league, dear Heidenheim, you’re welcome, your SvW.

Oh, one more sentence:
The ex-famous one takes that with him> unfortunately quite literally at the moment…

Now comes the Cologne clique who want to blatantly take away the butter from our bread. They must and will be given full throttle because they didn’t really start the season well:
Bankruptcies at BvB, at home against VW, a draw at Eintracht, bankruptcy against SAP; all in all, that makes 16th place and not a good mood.
And be careful: Kainz and Selke are once again playing against opponents with a Werder past
(The former only became really good in Cologne, before that he only partially showed off his skills;
The latter was promoted to RB against his will at the time… the return was due to the disastrous half-year and the team didn’t harmonize. In my opinion he wasn’t guilty of anything, so whistles are inappropriate)…
But, it could turn out that Werder also plays the crisis helper for Cologne and lets the two of them get caught…

At Werder there is no such thing as humor at all; Actually, the tree is already burning, without those responsible wanting to admit it. 4 (FOUR!!) goals from Heidenheim, 3 of which were from selected players
(I feel like I believe Dinkci more than OW when it comes to communication)…the end of the song:
the coach finds himself more and more in the crosshairs. Former players are criminally left uncovered and the so-called managers are obviously looking into the glass, at least not at the behavior of those in charge of the coaching.
Ole can’t get the defense to be stable and – as if in defiance – leaves the royal transfer Lynen on the bench. And with his experience he would have…, would and or would the subjunctive be a pluperfect…
Yes, SL had a cold and didn’t get to full training until Thursday – but if he’s on the bench then he’s ready to play. Otherwise OW could have taken Opitz with them.
But there was probably also some gossip – heard somewhere in the NachspielDEICH podcast:
“To Lynen again. According to internal information, he didn’t play what he was told to do against Bayern. He played what he thought was best and got the team in trouble.
That’s why he didn’t play anymore after that!”
OHA

Only success is sexy, second is the first loser. And OW is preparing to be the first to be kicked out this season

OW’s balance sheet; 38 games in the BuLi
11 wins, 6 draws and 21 defeats. 1.03 points per game
73 goals conceded / 1.92 per game
FloKo for comparison:
51 wins, 37 draws and 54 defeats. 1.35 pts/game.
Only Aad de Mos was worse than OW: 0.941 points per game.

A little summary, the last encounters with Cologne:

2016/2017 15th matchday Werder Bremen-1. FC Cologne 1:1 (1:1)

By the way, there was only a 0-0 draw once: January 30, 1965, on the 20th matchday…

It will be interesting to see what the guys in GrünWeiss want to offer us. And whether the coach can be brave.
Whether the Belgian tongs can play.
Whether the boys want to forget the Heidenheim bankruptcy.
And whether I can happily sip a small beer

To the staff:
Carstensen is missing from Cologne due to a yellow card suspension, Thielmann, Uth, Dietz and Katterbach are injured according to TM
Alu is probably still missing at Werder, this time Keïta could be enough for a place in the squad – it would be a nice thing to see him on his debut in the Weserstadion

What gives hope:
Despite defeat against Heidenheim, no relegation place
They defeated (a weak) Mainz confidently;
It’s not every day in the evening;
Various trainers (including Hasenhüttl, Glasner) are free

The kicker data comes on Thursday
