Preview Two Point Campus – Interspersed

When I draw the lines for my first classrooms feels Two Point Campus identical with Two Point Hospital. No wonder considering that Campus and Hospital share names and looks to be a game series similar to the spiritual predecessors in the Theme series. The tumultuous music, the silly fiddles that haunt the corridors and the snooty secretary who shouts in the loudspeaker system are all taken straight out of Two Point Hospital. Usually, it is a sensitive point to reuse so much old assets in a sequel, but in the case of Two Point Campus it is rather a security.

The developer Two Point Studios consists of, among others, industry veterans Mark Webley and Gary Carr, who previously worked on cult classics such as Theme Hospital and Fable. And it is noticeable that much of the style is seen again in the Two Point games – not least the twisted humor. If you recognize those names, you know exactly what it’s about.

Something that is definitely intact in Two Point Campus is the humor! Clever nods to popular culture, bad (that is, good) jokes and general farces are praises that Campus will be as good a game as Hospital. Of the five, six hours Varvat had the pleasure of tormenting our students with broken toilets and heavy courses provide Two Point Campus the impression of living up to the predecessor. The developer himself says that feedback from the first game help to improve Campus.

Two Point Skola

Two Point Campus is a simulator game in which you will build and manage various academic institutes. You plan the layout of the buildings, the interior of the classrooms and ensure that staff and students thrive as well as possible with your limited assets. Like its predecessor Two Point Hospital has game macro and micro control. Layout and study resources such as teachers, laboratory equipment and basic facilities are criteria that enable the school to function, while interior design, entertainment and social spaces create the conditions for the characters to succeed in their tasks.

With only a few hours behind the school desk, it is difficult to really grasp, or even try, the game’s unique features. In addition to the chance to fulfill specific students’ wishes (a pellejöns wished the school had an arcade machine) to increase their study morale offers Two Point Campus an intruder system. Students from rival schools can visit to disturb and disturb and then it is best that you have a caretaker who can chase them away.

Features we did not have time to test were unique events that can affect the school in a negative way, much like Two Point Hospitals natural disasters. For example, a school of magic and sorcery (with a name derived from Harry Potter) has an eerie curse on it. Other features include the ability to mix courses such as knight courses with clown studies. But what effects this has is unclear.

Promising for fans and funny couriers

2018 when Two Point Hospital was fresh, we gave it a strong nine in grades as it delivered a solid gaming experience with charm and depth. Two Point Campus feels right from the start as a worthy continuation of this new game series. The charm is undeniably there and the game mechanic depth can be sensed among all the tabs and functions. The campus therefore immediately gives a feeling of quality despite all the flames. Therefore is Two Point Campus probably most interesting for fans of Hospital and curious hobby directors who never had time to play the developer’s debut game. I loved Two Point Hospital and is extremely excited about this university flume simulator!

My only concern (apart from the fact that the game would be launched half-finished) is that it may not contain enough mechanical news to differentiate it from Hospital. It does not matter to me that the basis is the same. It is stable and easy to get started with. What I think I expect is that each thematic academy offers something a little unique that prevents the game from becoming monotonous in the long run. It’s just so much fun to build and decorate toilets at every school. Special challenges with varying methods of overcoming them are almost a must.

On August 9, we will find out how Two Point Campus develops the series when it’s released for PC, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X | S, followed by the Nintendo Switch at a later date. read more about Two Point Campus on its official website and remember to drop by us in August for a review.
