The Moser Medical Graz99ers have two games on the program next weekend. Tomorrow Friday the Innsbrucker Haie will be guests and on Sunday the Pioneers Vorarlberg.
In the last few days, the 99ers have analyzed a lot and talked to the team. After four games, the Graz team only has 2 points. “We only scored two points, but if you look at the statistics we started better than last season. But of course, in the end it is the results that count. We should have scored more goals, especially against Vienna and Laibach, then we would probably have had 4, 5 or 6 more points. But that’s ice hockey and tomorrow we have a new chance,” says head coach Pennerborn.
The Innsbrucker Haie didn’t get off to a bad start to the season this year either, with the Tyroleans having 9 points from 5 games already played. The legionnaires around Kevin Roy and Corey Mackin were particularly convincing.
It will be important for the 99ers to do well on defense and finally score the necessary goals on offense. Chris Dodero and Blaz Gregorc should help in the future. Both players are already training intensively with the 99ers and could each make their debut tomorrow. Whether both cracks will appear will be decided by Friday morning at the latest.
Statement Johan Pennerborn:“Tomorrow we need a structured game and a good defense. In addition, the boys up front have to take advantage of the scoring opportunities. Innsbruck is a good team, but we know how they play and we have a good feeling for tomorrow.“
