Four men will remain in detention for allegedly defrauding several victims of more than $35,000 through the “Sollete Farm” system, better known as La Granjita, which was designed as a pyramid scheme where victims were offered extras for recommending people. .
Luis Esteban Barrera Figueroa, William Orlando Ramos Rivas, Eber Ernesto Bonilla Bonilla and Samuel Antonio Madrid Alfaro, faced accusations of fraud against 24 victims.
For several months last year, they promoted an app called SOLLETE FARM, luring investors with false promises of significant profits ($3.50 to $14,400) by purchasing farm animals and entire farms. In addition, they cheated by receiving extra money for each new subscriber to the application.
In the initial hearing, the Tenth Court of Peace of San Salvador ordered formal investigation and provisional detention for the accused, given the seriousness of the crimes and to guarantee the legal process.
The precautionary measure of detention was considered necessary to avoid the interruption of the process and guarantee that the accused answer for the money swindled from the victims.
