HPV vaccine: Bogotá celebrates the decision of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection to expand the age range for male children, who are now from 9 to 17 years old, to receive the vaccine against the Human papillomavirus (HPV).
Since the beginning of the year, the Secretary of Health of the District, Gerson Bermont Galavis, suggested that the national entity implement this change in an act of joint responsibility with women and also, committed to the well-being of men. This decision allows the city to move forward with improving vaccination coverage. Likewise, from a gender perspective, this action will reduce the difference between men and women, create more collective responsibility and contribute to the reduction of mortality due to breast cancer.
