Prevention Campaign: Deworming, Rabies Vaccination, and Fumigation in Los Carrizos Shelter

Responding to the request of the inhabitants of the Los Carrizos shelter, the Chihuahua Health Secretariat, through Health Region III, carried out actions to deworm pets, rabies vaccination and fumigate homes, located in said indigenous settlement.

This prevention campaign was carried out with the purpose of preventing the proliferation of pests that could affect the health of those who live in this sector of the city, reported the Ministry of Health through a press release.

In anticipation of the Health Region III of the National Canine and Feline Rabies Vaccination Day that begins next Monday, September 25 in the city, the campaign has already been carried out at the Los Carrizos shelter, precisely at the request of the inhabitants.

It was announced that the objective of these actions is the prevention of possible cases of rickettsiosis caused by tick bites, as well as raising awareness among the population about keeping pets, dogs and cats, vaccinated, dewormed, clean and providing periodic maintenance. .

Through these actions, patios, interiors and the perimeter of 17 houses were fumigated, benefiting 17 families who live in that space.

Also within the work, 60 dogs were dewormed with an exclusive biological for dogs, which does not affect the health of humans and is friendly to vegetation.

Personnel from the Zoonoses and Vectors program of Region III participated in these actions, in coordination with Ramón Rocha, indigenous governor of the Los Carrizos settlement, who accompanied the health personnel to carry out these area fumigation and pet deworming activities.

The statement also mentions that it is important to inform citizens that starting Monday, September 25, rabies vaccination and deworming will be carried out in all health centers in the city.

The above, as already mentioned, is part of the celebration of the “National Canine and Feline Anti-rabies Vaccination Day”, which will take place from September 24 to 30 in all the states of the country.
