Preventing Spread of DHF, Pemecutan Kelod Village Holds Fogging

DENPASAR, NusaBali
Officials from Pemecutan Kelod Village, West Denpasar, together with officers from the Denpasar City Health Service carried out fogging on Jalan Pulau Indah VI Banjar Buagan, Wednesday (12/1).

Fogging was carried out because in the area there were residents who were infected with dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF). The head of Pemecutan Kelod I Wayan Tantra said the fogging was carried out on Jalan Pulau Indah VI Banjar Buagan because there were residents living there who had dengue fever. To anticipate a more widespread transmission, his party requested assistance from the Denpasar City Health Office to carry out fogging.

According to him, fogging cannot completely prevent dengue fever, but at least it can kill adult mosquitoes. To prevent the spread of the virus, his party has invited Jumantik (a larva monitor) in each banjar to come to residents’ homes for socialization and education on preventing dengue transmission by doing 3 M.

“Again, we remind you that eradicating DHF is not enough to send health workers and the public just by fogging. However, it must be followed up by maintaining a clean environment after fogging is carried out,” said Wayan Tantra. *son
