Preventing Snoring Disease in Cattle and Buffalo in Madina, the Agriculture Service is Boosting Vaccines

MADINA – The Agriculture Office of Mandailing Natal (Madina) through the Animal Husbandry Sector continues to make various efforts to deal with an outbreak of Septicemia Epizootia (SE) or snoring that attacked cattle and buffalo some time ago.

So far, eight cattle have died as a result of contracting the disease.

Meanwhile, up to now, 72 cattle have been vaccinated. Administering vaccines, vitamins and antibiotics to livestock is carried out as an effort to prevent the spread of SE disease or snoring that attacks these livestock.

The head of the Madina Agricultural Service, Siar Nastuion, said the 72 animals that were given the vaccine were under the auspices of the Panyabungan Health Center and the Bukit Malintang Health Center.

“The livestock that we have vaccinated consist of 52 cattle in the Panyabungan Puskeswan area and 17 cattle in the Bukiit Malintang Puskeswan area,” said Siar, Friday (27/1/2023).

For this reason, Siar said that by injecting the vaccine, livestock will get immunity. And prevented from spreading the snoring virus.

In addition, to maximize the injection in the Mandailing Godang area, this vaccine will also be administered in the Kotanopan District area and the Natal District area.

“To anticipate the spread of snoring, we are maximizing vaccine injections for cattle and buffalo at certain points. Livestock owners are not charged any fees for each vaccine injection. They are only asked to continue to monitor livestock if signs of disease are found. snoring,” he said.
