Lampung Regional Police: Bandar Lampung – Bandar Lampung Police Dokkes provided counseling and outreach about monkey pox at the Bandar Lampung Police Headquarters, on Saturday (04/11/2023) morning.
This activity is a preventative effort in dealing with monkey pox with the aim of increasing personnel awareness of the threat of diseases that can be transmitted from animals to humans.
Head of Bandar Lampung Police Dokkes, Ipda Dr. Silvia Marischa explained that it is important to understand monkey pox as a zoonotic disease that can threaten human health.
“Hopefully, personnel can be more alert and take preventative steps to protect themselves and their families from the threat of monkey pox,” said Inspector Silvia.
Apart from providing outreach, the Bandar Lampung Police Health Dokkes also distributed pamphlets containing information regarding symptoms, transmission and prevention efforts.
“A healthy environment and always maintaining health can at least reduce the potential for transmission of this disease,” said Dr. Silvia.
