CIREBON CITY, (FC).- The Cirebon City Health Service asks the public to be alert and take anticipatory action against Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), especially during the rainy season.

Apart from asking the public to be alert, the Cirebon City Health Office also invites the public to increase awareness of prevention by using the 3 M method, namely draining water reservoirs.

Close water reservoirs. Recycle various items that have the potential to become breeding grounds for the Aedes aegypti mosquito which carries the dengue virus.

Head of the Cirebon City Health Office, Siti Maria Listiawaty, said that dengue fever in Cirebon City is still well controlled and monitored, but the public is asked to increase awareness of preventing the spread of dengue fever.

“We are still monitoring the handling in Cirebon City and it is still well controlled. “But the public must increase awareness about doing 3M,” he said, Thursday (18/1).

He continued, people must be aware of places that have the potential to become water reservoirs, especially in open spaces.

“Especially in buckets which, let’s just say, are rarely used in shelters because dengue fever mosquitoes are very prone to laying their eggs in them. “Don’t let any water in certain places, such as containers or used bottles or anything, basically open reservoirs, if it’s closed it’s safe,” he explained.

He added, although dengue cases in 2023 will be smaller than in 2022, efforts to suppress the spread of dengue fever must continue.

“In 2023 it will be smaller than in 2022, Alhamdulillah. “But, we are still trying to reduce cases,” he concluded. (Francis)
