Prevent Tired Eyes During Work in the Following Ways

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Workers and students complain about conditions mata lelah during the Covid-19 pandemic. The increase in working from home (WFH) and school from home (SFH) has led to erratic working hours, as well as screen time. Increased screen time has a negative impact on eye health.

Staring at the screen of the device can reduce flicker eye and make the pupil of the eye dry and irritated. Focusing intensely on the screen for long periods of time, driving for too long, and doing detailed work for long periods of time, such as writing and reading, can all cause eye strain.

Intense focus means less blinking. Symptoms of tired eyes can be identified from headaches, neck pain and stiffness, or difficulty concentrating, as well as watery eyes, blurred vision, hot or itchy eyes, and sensitivity to light.

These symptoms indicate the eyes need to rest because they focus too long. Here are five tips to prevent tired eyes during pandemic Covid-19, as reported by Times of India.

-Increase font size on laptops and mobiles. Glare and reflections from screens can add strain to the eyes. Capitalization might help.

-Don’t stare too closely at the screen. Try to keep the screen distance from your eyes at least 60 cm.

-Reduce screen brightness and don’t forget to blink.

-Follow the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes, look at an object 20 feet or 6 meters away for at least 20 seconds. This will give the eye the much-needed rest.

-When your eyes feel tired, rest by stopping looking at any screen until you start to feel better. If it gets worse, see a doctor.
