Prevent the Spread of Nail and Mouth Disease Outbreaks with Strict Biosecurity

PEOPLE’S MIND – It is necessary to take precautions given the increasing prevalence of oral and nail diseases (PMK) to animal cattle.

Academic from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed) Juni Sumarmono said the need for strict biosecurity to prevent the spread of PMK.

He also said that Indonesia had previously been declared free from PMKbut now the case has reappeared.

Therefore, he requested that all parties move quickly to take action to prevent its spread PMK.

“If it expands later, it will take a long time and big costs to handle it,” he said as quoted by Antara.

He added that the community can also participate in preventing the spread of the virus PMK by reporting cases PMK on animal which are owned.

June added, PMK is a disease caused by a virus and attacks animal such as cows, goats, pigs, and so on.

Another thing to know according to June is, PMK It is acute, spreads quickly, and causes great losses.
