Stroke is also the leading cause of disability and death in Indonesia in 2014. In 2015, stroke is the leading cause of death in the world. Currently there are 17 million cases of stroke, 6.5 million deaths, and 26 million survivors.

As for data from the Association of Indonesian Hospitals (PERSI) in 2009, 65 percent of stroke patients experienced disabilities of various levels, such as being unable to walk, move, and other symptoms. Enseline said that easy ways to recognize the symptoms of a stroke include difficulty swallowing drinking water, weakening of the movement of some limbs, and headaches that appear unexpectedly.

“Therefore, it is necessary to have a healthy lifestyle while consuming a balanced nutritional intake. Immediately consult a doctor if you experience abnormal symptoms in the body so that we can overcome the disease with the right treatment,” he said.

He said the risk factors that cause stroke are generally due to high blood pressure, blood sugar, diabetes, cholesterol, uric acid, obesity, smoking and drinking habits.
