Prevent DHF with the House-to-House PSN Movement

SEMARANG, KOMPAS.TV – To prevent the spread of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF), Karangayu Village, Semarang City carried out a mosquito nest eradication movement (PSN), by monitoring mosquito larvae from house to house. The PSN movement will be carried out regularly, considering that currently the number of dengue cases is starting to rise.

The mosquito nest eradication movement (PSN) by monitoring mosquito larvae was carried out simultaneously in the Karangayu Village area, Semarang City, involving the health center team and youth youth organizations. They carry out monitoring from house to house by checking the water storage area.

The officers carefully use flashlights to ensure that water storage areas such as water tanks, bathrooms or barrels are safe from mosquito larvae that cause dengue fever.

“In addition to the pandemic, we only urge, suggest, provide education to residents regarding Covid-19. We also focus on eradicating mosquito larvae. At this time, the season is extremely rainy and hot, making these mosquitoes grow fast. So we focus on larva monitoring activities. This is to prevent residents in the Karangayu village from suffering from dengue caused by mosquito larvae,” said Sutarti, Head of Karangayu Village.

Monitoring of mosquito larvae will continue to be carried out regularly at least once a week. Not only that, the kelurahan also conducts socialization so that residents have mouse traps, where the presence of these animals is also a carrier of disease.
