The immense speed of speech that is characteristic of both of them drives this series: The author Fran Lebowitz, 70, and the filmmaker Martin Scorsese, 78, think quickly and formulate even faster, are eternally friends and like to appear together to talk about God (non-existent) to chat the world (bad), but mainly about their hometown New York (beyond), which threatens to degenerate into a theme park for the super-rich. It made sense to capture the duo’s paths with the camera and market them as a streaming event. Netflix did it, Scorsese directed it himself under the title “Pretend It’s a City”.
