Horizon Zero Dawn has certainly topped the gaming industry with its aesthetic appeal and compelling presentation of a post-apocalyptic world. The lore-filled open world leaves anyone satisfied with satisfying gameplay and their following has only grown. However, myths swirl around the community hinting at an upcoming PS5 release.
Several strong rumors have been circulating recently, suggesting that a PS5 remastered Horizon Zero Dawn is on the horizon. However, not many details about the intriguing possibility have surfaced at the moment. Recent rumors discuss unexpected developments, shedding more light on the PS5 remake.

The information comes from a certified industry insider, Colin Moriarty, who broke the unexpected word. Colin spilled the information on a recent episode of the Sacred Symbols + podcast (Locked Behind a Paywall on patreon). The Horizon Zero Dawn remake or remaster for PlayStation 5 will presumably be handled by another studio.
Colin was unable to confirm the validity of the rumors of a Horizon Zero Dawn remake for PS5, but he did confirm that its development is ongoing without direct involvement from Gang war games. According to Colin, another studio is developing the next-gen version and it could be one of PlayStation’s in-house studios.
The insider said:Let’s assume this too [Guerrilla] He’s doing a new Horizon thing there, although if it’s real, what I feel is that he’s on another team.“
Cullen also reiterated that he will not publish any team capable of producing the next generation of Horizon Zero Dawn because the source may not be able to reveal.
While fans might be upset Guerrilla Games for not developing the updated remake of Horizon Zero Dawn, these days it’s still pretty concerned about the IP. The team is working on multiple Horizon-related projects. For example, Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores, the official expansion for the game, will be released in April 2023.
Additionally, Guerrilla Games is involved in the development of Horizon: Call of the Mountain, a VR spin-off for Firesprite-enabled PSVR2 headsets. The enthralling studio also recently audited an in-house team producing an indie online title set in the lore-rich and expansive Horizon universe.
It is clear that the new version of Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 will contain a number of updates in the visual and gameplay aspects. For instance, “Improved lighting system (ambient occlusion, etc.), fixed textures. and improved animation, with new character models that match those of the sequel, Horizon Forbidden West. “
Horizon Zero Dawn was a huge success and took the gaming world by storm with its amazing gameplay. The title sold like hot cakes, reaching over 20 million copies sold on PC and consoles. Furthermore, it is clear that Guerrilla Games is looking to extract the full potential from the new IP for years to come.
