Press Release: Expiration of COVID-19 protective measures by Federal Government

Berlin (kkdp)·The legal framework for the corona protection measures will expire on April 7th. This means that the last remaining obligations are eliminated – such as wearing an FFP2 mask when visiting a hospital or nursing home. In other cases, too, there are no longer any restrictions.

The infection situation continues to weaken. For this reason, protective measures against the coronavirus have been gradually lifted over the past few weeks and months. The last regulations that are still in force will now expire on April 7th.

This means: From the following day, April 8th, the legal framework for the corona protection measures according to the Infection Protection Act 28b will no longer apply. This means that FFP2 masks no longer have to be worn when visiting a doctor’s office, hospital or nursing home.

The coronavirus entry regulation is also expiring

The mask requirement in long-distance passenger transport was lifted on February 2nd. Since March 1st, employees and residents in health and care facilities have been exempt from the obligation to test and wear masks.

This also eliminates the legal basis for the federal states to decide on their own coronavirus protective measures depending on the pandemic situation. In addition, the coronavirus entry regulation is expiring. This means that there are no longer any restrictions for travelers due to Corona.
