Asked about their Champions League duel against Atlético Madrid, Brendan Rodgers answered the following: ‘Atlético is an exceptional team. And Diego Simeone has done an exceptional job for many years there. They’ve been there for over a decade and have had a lot of success, so we know the challenge and we know they’re a very good team.’
Questioned about Celtic’s two previous matches in the Champions League, their coach stated the following: ‘I think that in the two previous games we were very competitive and we are not far from being a good team for this level‘. Next, the coach of the Scottish team added this: ‘There were things in those games that he was satisfied with. Now we will come to this match in which we will seek to give absolutely everything. We’ll see if we can learn from the two previous meetings.’
