LUDWIGSHAFEN (dpa-AFX) – “Rheinpfalz” (Ludwigshafen) on Brexit:
The “no deal”, the unregulated Brexit, is in sight again. (…) Although fishing is of completely subordinate economic importance, it now seems to be the sticking point. Most recently, Lord Frost offered a three-year transition period in the fisheries, while the EU demanded unhindered access to British waters for the next ten years (…). No wonder this met with angry protests from the British side. (…) The calculation on the European side of risking a few months of a “no deal” in order to then be able to renegotiate under better conditions is extremely dangerous. / Yyzz / DP / mis
