Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – President Joko Widodo again voiced his plan to continue to put a brake on exports of crude palm oil, aka crude palm oil (CPO). The last statement was made by Jokowi in a welcoming speech at Lemhannas, Wednesday (14/10/2021).
What Jokowi said was only a plan. However, in this statement, Jokowi also promised to take steps in the form of forming a special team of lawyers to fight potential lawsuits from CPO importing countries.
“At some point in the future, stop what is called CPO exports. Must be cosmetic, must be butter, must be biodiesel, and other derivatives [di dalam negeri].”
So far, market players, especially issuers of oil palm plantations in the capital market, have not seen this discourse as an obstacle.
