“I was a normal person”, pointed out Meneses, one of the patients affected by the vaccination against covid-19, to later recount that after going through the diagnosis at the Fusat Clinical Hospital and leaving it in worse conditions, it was at the Las Condes Clinic that she was diagnosed a polyneuropathy.
“I have problems for what is the action and execution of exercises of basic acts, how to open the can of a drink”, added Verónica.
In the same way, Alejandra Valladares, expressed her experience with the inoculation, revealing that she now suffers from severe anaphylactic crises, as an adverse effect after receiving the third Pfizer vaccine.
“We know it was a pandemic, but I feel that they did not focus on learning about the adverse effects, and that is the serious mistake they made,” said the woman.
“The State must accompany”
In this regard, the president of the Health Committee of the Chamber, the deputy Ana Maria Gazmuri (AH), commented that “what interests us, from the perspective of the draft resolution approved in April in the Chamber – which requests a compensation fund for the effects of vaccines – is that these cases be seen, of those people who have had adverse effects, even if it is a small number of the population”.
“The State must accompany and support all those who have been affected in their rehabilitation”, added the parliamentarian.
Meanwhile, the president of the Senate Health Committee, Juan Luis Castro (PS), affirmed that “the background that Verónica brings is very compelling, they are too solid to show that she was a healthy woman who had no associated pathology.”
After the presentation of the patients’ case, the parliamentarians agreed to officiate at the Minsal so that both patients are contacted and their cases are followed up.
In addition, it was agreed to request an exhaustive review of the protocols for lifting and warning about adverse effects, at the national level, of vaccines that use RNA, in order to have an epidemiological and scientific look at these Events Supposedly Attributable to Vaccination and Immunization (Esavi)
Finally, at the request of deputy Hugo Rey (RN), the commission agreed to officiate the Dipres to include in the 2023 Budget Law, an item that is intended for people who have had adverse effects from the covid-19 vaccine.
