At today’s press conference in Trzcianka (Greater Poland Voivodeship) Trzaskowski he stated that the list of people pardoned by President Andrzej Duda raises “a lot of doubts and questions”. In this regard, the candidate of the KO appealed to the president to disclose information regarding the pardon: three people convicted of drug trafficking in an organized criminal group, three people convicted of family abuse and one person convicted of murder.

The spokesman of the president, when asked about Trzaskowski’s appeal, emphasized that “all information about the pardon taken by President Andrzej Duda is available on the president’s website.”
The TVN24 portal, citing data from the president, wrote on Tuesday that for five years of office Andrzej Duda pardoned 95 people. Among them are those convicted of murder, robbery, family abuse, drug trafficking.
The portal said, among others, that there are three people on the list convicted of distributing narcotic drugs within organized crime groups. In their case, the president recalled “difficult family situations of convicts, who are the only breadwinners, also taking care of seriously ill children, positive criminological forecasts, as well as good environmental opinions of convicts”.
In recent days, the pardon, described by Rzeczpospolita, of a person convicted of a sexual offense against his minor daughter has aroused controversy. As the president himself and later the deputy head of his office Paweł Mucha explained, the act of grace concerned the shortening of the prohibition on approaching victims, as requested by them, and the man has already served the prison sentence.
