Presidential election in the DRC: Félix Tshisekedi re-elected for a second term (provisional results CNI) – AGP

Libreville, December 31, 2023 (AGP) – Félix Tshisekedi was re-elected for a second term at the head of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with 75%, according to provisional figures from the Independent National Electoral Commission (CNI) published by the local media.

Outgoing President Félix Tshisekedi obtained 13 million 215 votes, or 73%, according to figures from the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI).

The latter announced the provisional results this Sunday afternoon. The CENI’s announcement comes after 8 days of publication of the provisional results of the presidential election which gave Tshisekedi well in the lead, followed distantly by Moïse Katumbi, with 3,258,000 votes, or 18%, Martin Fayulu who obtained 960,478 votes or 5.33%, Adolphe Muzito and Denis Mukwege with 39,000 votes, or 0.22%.

Out of 41,700 million expected voters, 18 million actually participated in the vote, or 43% participation rate, according to the CENI.
