At the first Sunday conference, at 10 o’clock, the head of PKW Sylwester Marciniak informed that over 25,000 were opened nationwide. polling stations. – The pandemic is not dependent on electoral commissions, while the introduction of sanitary restrictions has caused that the voting speed is significantly reduced – he added.

He said, however, there are “things dependent on the constituency electoral commissions.” He added that the PKW reminded the committees that “no more than one person per four square meters of its public area may be in the polling station at the same time, excluding members of the constituency electoral commission, representatives of trust, social and international observers and the host of the premises”.

– It is unacceptable for the constituency electoral commissions to set further limits, for example, admitting one voter to the polling station or in such a number that certain voters’ positions are not approached by some voters despite a large queue waiting outside – said Marciniak.

He noted that compliance with sanitary rigor is necessary, but precautions cannot go too far.

He added that it was an appeal to all members of the precinct electoral commissions. – We see what is happening in front of the premises, huge queues. I hope that during the day they will be smaller – said the head of the Polish Olympic Committee.

– We will be able to make final arrangements in the following hours, but so far there is a high turnout – he said then.

Asked about the possibility of extending the election silence due to queues outside the premises in the evening, Sylwester Marciniak explained that this would not be the basis for extending the silence, and similar events had already taken place in previous elections. – People who reach the premises or will be in a queue in front of the building where the commission is located will have the right to vote. However, this is not a premise to extend the election silence – he said.
