Presidential Candidate Number 3 Ganjar Pranowo’s Dialogue with Fellowship of Indonesian Churches – Yenny Wahid Jokes About Christian Support

Jakarta

Presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo took part in the dialogue at the office of the Fellowship of Indonesian Churches (PGI) accompanied by the Ganjar-Mahfud TPN Advisory Board, Zannuba Ariffah Chafsoh (Yenny Wahid). During the meeting, Yenny joked about Christians having to vote for Ganjar.

“Christians really have to support Pak Ganjar,” said Yenny at PGI, Salemba, Central Jakarta, Monday, (22/1/2024).

Yenny then joked that Ganjar was from Central Java. He touched on Kudus as a district in Central Java.

“Pak Ganjar used to be the Governor of Central Java, Jesus is the Holy Spirit, and the Holy is in Central Java,” said Yenny, greeted by laughter and applause from the dialogue participants.

Meanwhile, Ganjar Pranowo told a story about the time he met the Professor of Philosophy, Father Magnis Suseno. He said Father Magnis reminded that elections are not about looking for the best people, but preventing bad people from coming to power.

“When I met Father Magnis, I was very happy to chat, ‘If my attitude is clear, Mr. Ganjar’. Is it clear, Father? I’m already excited, I think he wants to support me. (He said) ‘If my attitude is clear like what I said, “That in the elections we are not looking for the best people, qualified people, no, but preventing bad people from coming to power.” I think I want to support it,” said Ganjar.

“Then I was given a very legendary book, his book, ‘Political Ethics’. Hopefully, ladies and gentlemen, you watched the debate last night. It’s normal, sir, you don’t need to laugh when watching. Laughter shows something,” he added.
