A mass organization called Rampai Nusantara reported alleged election violations committed by presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan to Bawaslu. The report is related to allegations of campaigning during the 2024 election quiet period.
“Today I would like to report the 01 presidential candidate, Anies Rasyid Baswedan, for his statement when holding a press conference at Mr. Muhammad Jusuf Kalla’s house on February 12 2024. Because as we know, Anies Rasyid Baswedan’s statement falls into the category of election crimes, especially “in the quiet period of the 2024 election campaign,” said Chairman of Rampai Nusantara Mardiansyah at Bawaslu at the Bawaslu Office, Tuesday (13/2/2024).
The report has been received and registered with Number: 099/LP/PP/RI/00.00/II/2024/ dated 13 February 2024 with the reported person Anies Rasyid Baswedan and the reporter on behalf of Satria.
He said that Anies made two statements which allegedly violated the 2024 election regulations by campaigning during the quiet period. These include the statements ‘the people want change’ and ‘that the score has been fixed’.
“We suspect that there is indeed a violation of laws and regulations regarding the statement of Brother Anies Baswedan, one of whom is related to still saying that the people want change, that is tagline Candidate candidate 01’s campaign is not permitted by law. “That is always attached to brother Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate in the current election or presidential election,” he added.
“Then there was also a statement that the scores had been arranged, this election was conveyed by Anies Rasyid Baswedan,” he added.
A number of pieces of evidence brought included screenshots of news pages from several online media regarding Anies’ comments regarding the dirty vote film at a press conference at Jusuf Kalla’s residence.
Furthermore, he added, the articles relating to the existence of campaign elements during the quiet period are contained in Article 276 paragraphs 1 and 2 and Article 492 of Law 7/2017 and also Article 237 PKPU 15/2023. As well as Article 267 paragraph 5 of Law 7/2017 and also Article 54 paragraph 4 of PKPU 15/2023.
Respons Anies
Anies Baswedan responded to the report. He responded confusedly.
“Oh, so we can’t change, huh?” said Anies at his residence in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta, Tuesday (13/2).
Anies said Bawaslu would certainly handle the report with common sense. The former Governor of DKI Jakarta is confident that Bawaslu will process all reports.
“I think Bawaslu will use common sense, anyone can report, but of course returning to Bawaslu, Bawaslu will definitely process reports that can be accepted by common sense,” he said.
