Now experts must determine the possibility of restoring the structure, the president was told.

Readiness to take part in the restoration of the Transfiguration Cathedral was shown by foreign partners.

Recall: This is the largest Orthodox church in Odessa, founded in 1795 and consecrated in 1808. In 1936 it was completely destroyed by the Bolsheviks. The cathedral was built in 1999-2011 on the site of the destroyed predecessor.

On July 23, 2023, due to a Russian missile attack on civilian infrastructure and the historical center of Odessa, this cathedral suffered significant damage. The altar was completely destroyed and the supporting structure of the building was damaged.
