Last week, the Office of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky instructed the heads of regional administrations to stop all communication with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (VSU) Valery Zaluzhny, reports the publication “Strana.ua”.
The information was spread by the journalist Yury Nikolov, who refers to a representative of local authorities in Ukraine. In his words, the order was handed to the governors “so as not to create unrest on the part of the regional elites around him (Zaluzhny – note ed.)”. The journalist described the measure as “a move by Zelensky’s team to destroy a potential competitor”.
The fact that there is a conflict between Zelensky and Zaluzhny was confirmed last week by the President of Ukraine himself, who in an interview with the British newspaper The Sun called on the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military personnel not to interfere in politics, as this “does not lead to the unity of the nation’.
Earlier, “Strana.ua” reported that Zelensky distanced himself from MP Mariana Bezugla, who accused the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of not having a clear plan for the next year’s military operations.
