President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky noted the military of the National Guard, as well as the Main Intelligence Directorate, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Air Force and the Foreign Intelligence Service. He did not provide details, but expressed his conviction that Ukraine will survive, maintain its independence and win.
In his treatment to the Ukrainians on December 17, the president noted that the world is helping, seeing that the state and the people themselves are doing everything to protect themselves. He expressed gratitude to everyone who stands in defense of the state.
The head of state also spoke about the results of the past week on the diplomatic front.
“We have a decision of the European Council, for which we have been working all year – a decision to open negotiations on membership. In the coming days, we will officially begin with the European Commission the process of assessing Ukrainian legislation for compliance with the legislation of the European Union – the screening process,” the president noted.
“We are also preparing to work on the negotiating framework for Ukraine – we expect it in the spring. The negotiation process will not be easy, but the main thing is that historically we have decided: Ukraine will always be part of our common European home,” the head of state added, expressing gratitude to everyone who is helping to bring closer necessary European solutions.
According to the president, active work continues to ensure that Ukraine has sufficient financial support next year.
“This applies to bilateral programs with partner states, and programs at the EU level, and the process of use and confiscation of Russian assets that are frozen in different jurisdictions. And this issue – the issue of frozen assets – was one of the important decisions that were discussed at negotiations this week,” the Ukrainian leader said.
“The absolutely positive, meaningful relations of our state with the countries of Northern Europe – the visit to Norway and the Ukraine plus Northern Europe summit once again proved this,” added the head of state, thanking the partner countries for their constant desire to bring Ukraine’s victory closer.
According to Zelensky, this week has also returned attention to Ukraine in Latin American countries.
“A very warm, positive visit to Argentina last Sunday. Negotiations with the new President of Argentina – we wish good luck to him, his state, and the entire Argentine people. Meetings with the leaders of other countries in the region – Paraguay, Uruguay, Ecuador… This is one of the key tasks for Ukraine, the strategic task is to take our foreign policy beyond traditional directions,” the president noted.

– On December 16, Zelensky chaired a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Headquarters, which lasted almost three hours. At it, the entire military command discussed key issues of defense and provision of defenders.
– The president also announced the next weeks “active in foreign policy” for Ukraine. According to him, representatives of our state cooperate with Western partners to maintain unity in the defense of Ukraine.
