“I had a phone conversation with House Speaker Johnson. I thank him personally, both parties, the American people and the president [Džo] Biden for the vital support to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion,” Zelensky said on the Telegram platform.
“I told about the situation on the battlefield, specifically about the rapid intensification of Russian air terror. (..) In this situation, the fact that the Congress quickly makes a decision on aid to Ukraine is critically important,” the president emphasized.
“We are aware that there are different positions in the House of Representatives on how to do this, but the main thing is that the issue of aid to Ukraine should continue to be a unifying factor,” he added.
“[Mēs] we discussed the need to stop as soon as possible the sources from which Russia finances its war, as well as the use of frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine. In this regard, too, we are counting on the leadership of the Congress,” Zelensky said.
