President Zelensky Dismisses Ambassador Vadym Prystaiko: Reasons for Decision Not Reported

The reasons for this decision are not reported.

President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed Vadym Prystaiko from his post as ambassador to the UK.

About it says in a decree published on the website of the head of state on July 21.

Prystaiko is fired from his post as Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as well as from his part-time position as Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the International Maritime Organization.

Vadim Prystaiko has headed the Ukrainian Embassy in the UK since July 2020.

Recall that the other day Vadim Prystaiko reproached President Volodymyr Zelensky for “unhealthy sarcasm”.

British Defense Minister Ben Wallace said that Ukraine should be more grateful to Western allies for the assistance provided. In response, Zelensky expressed his readiness “to wake up in the morning and thank the minister personally.”

The Ukrainian ambassador, commenting on the president’s words, said: “I don’t think this is healthy sarcasm.” Subsequently, Prystaiko added that “sarcasm between friendly countries is not needed.”

Earlier it became known that the Minister of Culture and Information Policy Alexander Tkachenko submitted his resignation.
