President Volodymyr Zelensky called for an end to all restrictions on the supply of Ukrainian grain. He made the appeal during his virtual participation in the plenary session of the Eighth Summit of the Three Seas Initiative, which is being held in Bucharest.
“This is a brutal aggression against everyone, against the Europeans. The consequences are felt everywhere. Ukraine is against further restrictions on our exports. We have to export because we need the funds,” the Ukrainian president said. He added that the country should not become an economic target and appealed to the prime ministers of Bulgaria, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary.
“I ask the partners and colleagues from Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary to take into account that any kind of restriction of Ukrainian exports only increases the suffering caused by Russian aggression,” Zelensky emphasized. He recalled that the foundation of the EU is built on free trade and non-interference at the level of free competition.
“European institutions should not multiply the difficulties we are facing. Ukraine is fighting for survival, for our common values. This is happening both on land and in water, but also in the air,” concluded Zelensky.
He also commented on the news about the parts of a drone found on the territory of Romania, which may be Russian.
“Think what would have happened if Putin had managed to really set foot in Ukraine,” commented the Ukrainian president and added that in the past there was a lack of solidarity with his country, but the date of February 24 changed everything.
“Ukraine is grateful to your countries for their support. When I say “we”, I do not mean only Ukrainians, but also your peoples. We make a common front for our common freedom, for our common European future. This form of cooperation here is called the Initiative “Three seas”, but it’s not about three walls, but about a form of unity. When Ukrainian ports are bombed almost every night, we have to cope and constantly pay attention to our logistics,” Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian president also announced a new Russian attack on a market in the Ukrainian city of Konstantinovka, located about 30 kilometers from the front line, BTA reports. According to his information, at least 16 people were killed in the bombing. A market, shops and a pharmacy were affected. “Unfortunately, the number of dead and injured may increase,” Zelensky added.
