The presidents paid special attention to the clause of the Ukrainian peace formula on the return of all prisoners to Ukraine.
Head of State Vladimir Zelensky and Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation, during which the President of Ukraine informed his colleague about the ongoing work on the Ukrainian peace formula and invited Ankara to send a representative to the meeting of advisers, which will take place in Davos, Switzerland.
The President spoke about this in his Telegram channel.
During the discussion of the peace formula, attention was separately focused on the point regarding the return of all prisoners and deportees to Ukraine. The head of state noted the importance of the mediation of the Turkish side, aimed at the release of the Crimean Tatars and all Ukrainian citizens held in Russian captivity.
Zelensky thanked Erdogan for the high level of interaction between Kiev and Ankara in many areas and emphasized that the Ukrainian-Turkish partnership adds strength to the region.
In turn, the agency “Anadolu” reports that Erdogan, in a conversation with Zelensky, announced Turkey’s readiness to “take on the role of a mediator and negotiate peace in Ukraine.”
In addition, the Turkish president spoke in favor of resuming the grain corridor.
Let us recall that this week information appeared that Turkey refused to allow British minesweepers through the Bosphorus for Ukraine. However, the Ukrainian Navy later reported that Kyiv did not submit a request to Ankara to allow the mentioned ships into the Black Sea.
