The Presidential Office announced that President Yoon Seok-yeol invited former President Park Geun-hye to his official residence in Hannam-dong, Seoul for lunch on the 29th. This is our third meeting this year.
Spokesperson Kim Soo-kyung said that President Yoon and First Lady Kim Kun-hee personally welcomed former President Park when she arrived at the official residence around 12 noon, and also saw her off when she returned home after eating.
The luncheon was held until 2:20 p.m. with a Korean menu. President Yoon began the conversation by asking about former President Park’s health. When President Yoon asked, “How often do you come to Seoul?” former President Park answered that he comes once every two months. President Yoon said, “I hope you feel comfortable coming here often.”
President Yoon and former President Park took a walk in the garden of the official residence for about 10 minutes after lunch. President Yoon guided former President Park inside the residence and explained the history of the residence.
President Yoon said of the official residence, “President Park Chung-hee ordered the Army Corps of Engineers to build it in 1968 after receiving a report from the Minister of Foreign Affairs that there was no suitable space to welcome foreign guests.” The two then talked about the Blue House residence.

Afterwards, on November 7, he visited former President Park’s residence in Dalseong, Daegu and chatted with him for about an hour. At that time, former President Park greeted President Yoon in front of the front steps of the house.
President Yoon said, “What I have learned from looking back on the administration of state affairs during the time of President Park Chung-hee is being reflected in the administration of the state now,” and as the two took a walk in the garden and parted ways, they told each other to take good care of their health.
