According to the presidential office, President Yun will hold a summit meeting with Kiribati President Tanetti Maamau at 3 p.m. on the 28th at the presidential office in Yongsan, Seoul.
He will then hold talks with Tonga Prime Minister Xiaosi Sovaleni, Tuvalu Prime Minister Kausea Natano, Vanuatu Prime Minister Ismael Kalsakau, and Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape.
These leaders visited Korea to attend the Korea-Pacific Islands Summit to be held in Korea on the 29th and 30th.
President Yoon invited the leaders of the 18 member countries of the Forum of Pacific Islands (PIF) (including French territories) and the PIF Secretary-General as husband and wife to this meeting on the theme of “Voyage for Common Prosperity: Reinforcement of Cooperation in the Blue Pacific Ocean.” .
This is the first time that a multilateral summit between Korea and Pacific island countries is being held.
