On the 21st, the first day of the Eulji exercise, President Yoon Seok-yeol emphasized, “Efforts must be made to improve the national total warfare capabilities of the private sector, the government and the military together.”
In the opening remarks at the Eulji Cabinet meeting presided over at the Presidential Office in Yongsan on the morning of the 21st, President Yoon Seok-yeol said, “The Eulji exercise, which had been scaled down under the previous government, was normalized last year, and this year, it was upgraded to an integrated civil-government-military exercise in which all citizens participate. He said, “In preparation for the North Korean nuclear threat, anti-state forces, cyber attacks, etc., training is conducted like actual combat.”
The Eulji Exercise is a training conducted nationwide once a year to review and supplement the emergency preparedness plan at the government level to protect the lives and property of the nation and people in the event of a national emergency, and to familiarize themselves with wartime mission execution procedures.
President Yoon said, “From the beginning of the war, North Korea will cause extreme social chaos and division by spreading fake news, spreading fake news, and propaganda using anti-state forces,” he said. It is more important than anything else to bring public opinion together.”
“North Korea will try to paralyze the national infrastructure by attacking important national facilities,” he said, adding that there is a need for drastic improvement in protection measures for important national facilities such as nuclear power plants and national telecommunications.
“North Korea will mobilize all available means to achieve its war goals and will not hesitate to use nuclear weapons,” he added.
