The President’s Office reported that President Yoon Seok-yeol met with small business owners today and said, “To ease the financial burden, we are preparing special support measures to reflect 4 trillion won in low-interest loans in next year’s budget and convert them into low-interest loans.”
President Yoon attended the 2023 Korea Small Business Convention held at KINTEX in Ilsan, Gyeonggi-do today and said in an encouraging speech, “We will become a warm government that extends a hand of support to small business owners.”
He also said, “We will fully exempt the 800 billion won refund for disaster relief funds paid in advance during the COVID-19 period,” and reiterated the decision made by the High-Level Party-Government Council on the 29th of last month. He also mentioned that he would promote a gas bill installment payment system and support for replacing old air conditioners and heaters.
This is the first time that a sitting president has attended the small business convention, which has been held for 18 years, and more than 2,000 small business owners from various industries, including the restaurant and beauty industries, attended the event.
