President Rumen Radev hands over discredited second mandate to PP-DB government

President Rumen Radev handed over the second mandate for the compilation of PP-DB government with the words “he is already discredited”.

“As president and commander-in-chief, I am directly involved in national security and called to defend the Bulgarian state. Precisely because of this, it is inappropriate for me to hand you a mandate and to entrust the fate of Bulgaria in the hands of the leaders of your party after the leaked records and the subsequent public confessions for the torpedoing of Bulgarian sovereignty”, said the head of state.

Academician Nikolay Denkov received the folder, he is a candidate for prime minister of the coalition.

“It is precisely for this reason that I, for my part, am handing you a mandate, but inexpediently, because of the defamation of the offices, the request for interference in the elections. I am obliged to hand over this mandate. For the sake of preserving the remnants of trust in the political system, I urge you to reconsider completely the expediency of utilizing this mandate, which, in my opinion, has already been discredited,” added Rumen Radev.

Denkov said for his part: “You know my priorities. I think we are all unanimous that Bulgaria needs a stable government that will solve people’s problems and advance Bulgaria’s European path.”

The candidate for prime minister with the second mandate noted that the most important is the budget, without which a number of important payments cannot happen. He emphasized that it is very important for the parliament to work, pointing out that they are waiting for changes to the Constitution, the Criminal Code, etc.

“In the coming days, we will conduct negotiations with the other parliamentary forces in order to be able to form a regular government,” Academician Denkov announced, adding that he hopes to have a stable government regularly broadcast next week.

Against this background, a protest was held in front of the presidency building against PP-DB demanding sovereignty.
