President Rumen Radev condemns attack on Nova Kakhovka dam posing risk to civilians and environment

I strongly condemn the attack on the Nova Kakhovka dam, which endangers many civilians, poses a serious risk to the environment, and threatens the security of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Those responsible for this outrageous act must be held accountable.

The danger of a humanitarian and ecological catastrophe is increasing. For a second day, huge amounts of water are pouring out of the reservoir, and more than 40,000 people in areas under both Ukrainian and Russian control are at risk of flooding. The water level is expected to start dropping in at least 10 days.
