Bulgaria has the ambition to increase the export of products with a higher added value. This was stated by President Rumen Radev during the video conference “Bulgarian-German economic relations: current state and prospects”. Minister of Economy Kiril Petkov, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Christoph Eichhorn, representatives of the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the mayors of Pirdop, Zlatitsa and Anton.
Bulgaria supports honest, transparent and socially responsible business, which leads to the creation of new jobs, implements new, progressive forms of management and to real added value, the head of state emphasized. According to the president, our country is ready to work to deepen existing partnerships and mutually beneficial economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Germany.
I hope that honey production will continue to be not only one of the leaders in Europe in terms of quantity, but also in terms of quality and compliance with environmental standards, the president emphasized. According to him, the progress in environmental protection is huge, but it is time to take the next logical step for production with higher added value. “Copper is an extremely valuable raw material, but when it leaves Bulgaria, it is processed into other products with a higher added value. Bulgaria has all the grounds, such as facts, operating costs and, above all, human capital, to build an enterprise here, which would export finished products with a higher added value, said the head of state. He noted that the goal is ambitious and requires that the business be export-oriented, and that the state also be engaged and continue to work with the business in a transparent, honest and responsible manner.
The head of state noted the positive trend in the economic relations between Bulgaria and Germany and highlighted the common ambition of the two countries to exceed 10 billion euros in trade. “I believe that the way we work, this goal will be achieved, because German business is looking for sustainable solutions in Bulgaria,” said the head of state.
