/ world today news/ “President Rumen Radev summoned to “Dondukov” 2 Ministers of Internal Affairs Valentin Radev and the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Mladen Marinov. This was announced by the press service of “Dondukov” 2. The two informed the president about the crime-related situation in the country in recent weeks, as well as the progress of investigations into serious crimes from the past few days.

In the course of the meeting, the achieved results and the weaknesses in the operational-investigative activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were discussed, as well as their interaction with the local authorities and citizens, in relation to wanted persons with an effective sentence, Dondukov also reports 2 .

Rumen Radev has drawn attention to the need to improve the mechanisms, including legislative changes, so that in the future similar gaps will not be allowed in the difficult and responsible work of the Ministry of the Interior.

According to the head of state, the model of work in the fight against crime must be improved to guarantee greater security for Bulgarian citizens.

A CSNS meeting with the president on security and defense issues is scheduled for tomorrow. The topic is “The role of the Republic of Bulgaria in the development of the Common Security and Defense Policy of the EU (CSDP) in the context of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2018”.
The meeting of “Dondukov” 2 is two days before the official opening of the Bulgarian EU presidency. It should start at 10.30am.
